Art Bakery & Wine Marbella

Meeting a friend who is a retired Michelin starred chef for early dinner and having to choose a location is difficult. We wanted somewhere quiet, casual dining and away from the Bank Holiday crowds. Art Bakery & Wine was the perfect choice tucked away in the residential area behind Marbella bus station.

The Yum: The menu is essentially Brunch and Breakfast but as we were there early evening we started with some very nice Cantabrian anchovies served with rye bread and quails eggs followed by pizzas and salad. The pizzas are absolutely wow! Bases are made with sourdough, thick crust but incredibly light, generously topped with quality ingredients. The combination of fresh green pistachios, with pesto was a revelation. We ALL agreed that it was the best pizza we had ever tasted and pricing of the pizzas is very reasonable indeed. Dessert was a choice of pastries. They sell their pastries, breads and pizzas all for takeaway too as well wonderful birthday/celebration cakes (the Napoleon Millefeuille is a triumph).

The Fizz: we started with a crisp white Viñas Viejas and then moved on to a delicious, full bodied red Dehesa de La Granja to accompany the pizza. Both excellent choices.

The Rest: A lot of thought has been given to both the interior and exterior decor and service is friendly. Ecological sustainability is also evident which is always a plus and their kitchen area is impeccably pristine. Ary Bakery & Wine is a relatively new business and it deserves to do well.

Yumfizz rating: 10/10 for the pizza, 9/10 for the rest.
