We stopped off for some tapas on a very warm and busy Saturday night in July. Having heard about Casarivas being a fairly recent opening, we decided to pop in on the off chance there was a table free. Located in the centre of town, a few streets back from the beach, it’s busy, buzzy and there were no tourists (other than Spanish ones lol). Just the way we like it.
The Yum: The menu is small and concise. Food is prepared in a completely open kitchen, so nothing to hide behind. It’s absolutely evident that the ingredients are good quality and there also have their own olive oil. Fresh Gambas blancas, rich croquetas and off the scale yummy Torreznos with spicy sauce (special off menu) served with fresh bread and olives were sufficient for us.
The Fizz: We opted for vermouth (very typical and served in a heavy glass with a slice of orange and ice). Wine list is definitely to be investigated next time.
The Rest: there are only couple of tables outside so be prepared for inside seating. Best to book ahead. It’s busy! (for obvious reasons). We loved it and will definitely add it to our regulars list.
